Did the second-class status of JW women ever bother you? Does it now?
by True North inif the jw organization were considered a normal business operating without the protections of being a religion, it obviously would have to make some big changes in order to avoid being sued out of existence for sex discrimination.
i wasn't raised to think that women should be relegated to second class status or that they should have less opportunities than men or be relegated to a limited set of life roles.
however, when i became a jw, i freely accepted all the sexist nonsense that came with the territory without ever being bothered by it.

Would you have to lie to be reinstated if DF'd for something you didn't do?
by True North inif a jw was disfellowshipped for something they didn't do -- perhaps as the result of false or mistaken accusations -- would they have to lie by "admitting" the "sin" to get reinstated.
otherwise, if they refused to admit it, wouldn't they be considered unrepentant?
seems like it could be a sort of catch 22.

The WT wrecking ball's in action again
by FreeWilly inwell my folks seem determined to drive what remains of their family right off the cliff!
i should have known better, but after enduring various insults after explaining why i won't attend the memorial, i too off the gloves.
i threw the un scandal into the mix.

God created only us?
by Dan-O inin the thread on 'which tv shows did you not watch because you were a witness?
", the comment was made that x-files was off the list (in part) because it involved aliens, and 'god created only us'.. now, i'll grant you that i've not attended meetings for about 20 years now, but i can't recall hearing this line of reasoning before.
when did this "new light" get a fresh bulb?

ANOTHER WT "RULE" - Are they kidding?
by Sirona inhttp://www.watchtower.org/library/w/2003/6/1/article_01.htm
does the fact that incense is used in religious ceremonies and in spiritism mean that all incense-burning is wrong?
not necessarily.
